Poster & Social Media Project
For this project, I was tasked with creating both a poster and a series of social media posts for a fundraising event. The chosen theme, Once Upon a Gala, was inspired by classic fairy tales and aimed to blend elegance with a whimsical, storybook charm. The event’s purpose to support children’s literacy, especially in underserved communities, informed the overall tone and imagery, as I wanted the designs to feel magical while still highlighting the meaningful cause. I began the project by sketching out initial concepts and layouts to explore imagery, hierarchy, and composition. From there, I moved into Adobe Illustrator, where I created all of the illustrations as vector graphics. The final designs feature illuminated-style lettering, a detailed castle illustration, dragon, glass slipper and golden star motifs to immediately convey a fairy-tale atmosphere. A soft purple color palette paired with warm gold accents helped create an inviting and enchanting mood, while cohesive typography and layout ensured clarity across both print and digital formats. Each social media post was designed with a specific purpose in mind, ranging from sharing inspirational quotes to promoting ticket sales, while maintaining consistent visuals for strong brand recognition. Overall, my design choices were guided by the goal of immersing viewers in a magical narrative at first glance while still providing clear and accessible event information. This project allowed me to combine imaginative storytelling with purposeful design, resulting in visuals that both captivate and inform.
